About First Tee

Our work at First Tee is not about improving your golf score… It’s about strengthening what you bring to everything you do, including golf. No matter the course, we grow from the challenges we face on it. We believe that golf provides a powerful vehicle to help kids build inner strength and skills that they can take to everything else they do. Character is what you bring to everything you do. It’s what signifies to the world what’s inside of you. It outlasts genius and talent yet propels both. It’s what we are admired for and remembered by. It’s what transforms piercing words to inspire you forward rather than tear you down. And it’s what allows you to walk away from failure determined, not defeated.

How to get started:

1. Complete the attached volunteer application.

2. Complete the background check and online child protection course (Safesport) at no cost to you.

 All volunteers must complete a background check and SafeSport training course before joining us at classes. This is a requirement of our license with First Tee.

3. Kayla will contact you to discuss your options as a volunteer.

4. Attend scheduled training for selected volunteer opportunity.

5. Show up for your first day as a new volunteer, ready to create Game Changer.

Volunteer Opportunities

Currently, these are the roles that we are asking volunteers to complete during classes.

Assistant Coach

  1. Complete the online Assistant Coach Training program.
  2. Monitor safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  3. Understand First Tee’s mission and have a basic understanding of golf.

Set Up/Tear Down
  1. Set up and tear down equipment.
  2. Organize equipment.
Check-In/Check-Out

  1. Ensure proper check-in/check-out procedures are followed by parents/guardians.
  2. Ensure proper check-in/check-out procedures are followed for loaner equipment.
  3. Manage late arrivals and departures.
  4. Assist Lead Coach with communications with parents/guardians.
